How to fix a toilet that keeps filling. If this is happening to you the fix is really easy and super cheap. The only tool required is a philips head screwdriver. There should be a shut-off valve under the toilet, but in the event there isn't you might have to go down into your basement and turn off the main inlet. Mine is located next to my Hot-water tank. Once the water is shut-off the repair can be made.
If you are unsure about the part you will need just take a photo with your cellphone and show the assistant at Home-Depot and they can help you. For me the replacement only came in one size so the choice was easy. Don't be scared to perform a repair like this, it is super easy and remember to NOT over tighten the screws. The plastic can be VERY brittle and crack easily.
