NOTE: Please do not attempt to upgrade your firmware unless you have a copy of your present firmware. If your camera works well leave it alone. There are too many cameras with different types of LCD screens, lenses, and chips. Upgrading your firmware can mess your working camera up. Leave well enough alone.
I bought two SJ4000 from Amazon and when I got them I installed the SJCAM firmware from the SJCAM.com website. It worked just fine. The only problem is that the "OK" button didn't work. You had to use the "Scroll down" button. That was the only issue. I was able to input a name or plate number on screen and have it show up in the video. There was a color issue but the camera might just have to set differently than the other one was.
